Valentine’s Day “Pop-up Project” Kickoff
Locavestors rejoice! A Valentine’s-themed pop-up shop is about to spring up in the City Center. REV is partnering with the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham on the “Pop-up Project,” an initiative allowing merchants to temporarily use vacant downtown storefronts to sell their wares. The goal of the project is to encourage foot and bicycle traffic downtown. “It perfectly encapsulates our mission of revitalizing places, energizing businesses and creating vibrancy,” said CEO David Fleming. Five merchants will kick off the “Pop-up Project” just in time for Valentine’s day, Friday, Feb. 8th from noon to 7 p.m and Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Johnny Cochran building. This weekend’s “Pop-up” Shop will include unique offerings from Harmony Bath & Body, Tallulah Faire, Bitty’s Back Porch, Steva’s Kits and Plenty (handmade furniture). Stop by and get something special for your valentine!
