1. Call to Order
Adoption of Agenda – Approved with no objections
Approval of November 18, 2014 Minutes – Approved with no objections

2. Open Reports
Birmingham Police Department – No Report
Birmingham Fire Department – No Report
CAP Officers – No Report
Public Works – Representative present to take comments and questions.
Space OneEleven – No Report

Courtney Hunter, Chief of Staff to Councilman Austin, gave an update on his trip to Switzerland and the city’s attempt to bring the World Games to Birmingham. There should an update by the end of the week.

Randall Woodfin, President of Birmingham Board of Education, gave an update on the upcoming property tax vote, February 10, 2015, tax would go to support the classroom courses such as art, band, choir, etc.. Randall also gave an update on the Board’s search for a new superintendent for Birmingham Schools. The Board hopes to have new superintendent in place by next school year.

3. CCNA Funds:
After payment of the $3,400 approved by CCNA in January 2014 for benches on 2nd Avenue, the Capital fund will be $0.
After payment of $1,000 to Sojourns for the Street Fair, as approved at the March
2014 meeting, payment of $1,000 for the CCNA/Park Place Apartments Fun
Day, approved at the May meeting, and payment of $2,000 for Art Walk as
approved at the July 2014 meeting, the Non-cap fund will be $3,289.24.
At this time, we still only get $2,000 per year from the City.

4. Old Business:
Neighborhood Officer Elections: Richard Burton is the new Central City Neighborhood Association President; Sheleta Purifoy is the new Vice President; and Summer Davis is the new Secretary.

5. New Business:
Liquor License Request – Bamboo on 2nd. Address 2212 2nd Ave. N
Sushi Rolls / Noodles / Bar / Grill
Long time partners and restaurateurs Sam Fallaw and Bernie Smith have joined with Chef Abhi Sainju to bring an exciting concept to the Downtown area. Bamboo on 2nd will be an Asian inspired restaurant, open 7 days a week, offering both lunch and dinner. – Bernie Smith gave a presentation and answered questions about Bamboo on 2nd, set to open in April. Mike Gibson from Appleseed Workshop presented plans and drawings of the restaurant and answered questions about design etc. Motion and 2nd was made for vote on liquor license request -Vote was 18 Yes/approve and 0 No/oppose Bamboo on 2nd Liquor License Approved.

Willie Davis gave an update on The Dannon Project and presented a handout with further info.

November 17th – Main Downtown Library, Story Castle Room
