1. Call to Order @ 6:07 p.m.

Adoption of Agenda – M.Perez
Approval of October 20, 2015 Minutes – D.Kassouf moved to approve

2. Open Reports

Birmingham Fire Department – Fire Station #1 is located at 1808 7th Ave N; fires peak this time of year; 900+ calls this past week citywide; 40 new firefighters will be hired

CAP Officers – Officer Courtney Pullum: suggests calling for escort since it gets darker earlier; let CAP know of location of aggressive panhandling; report of panhandling on corner of 6th Ave and 20th St (gym where lots of panhandling occurs); CAP only open until midnight; question from resident regarding urban campsite under interstate and what resources city has to get rid of it, but no solution provided. Per R.Burton, everything under overpass is state property. Per Local Act 352, police can assist person who seems “mentally off” but person would be back on the street after 48 hours. Without threat of danger, individual cannot be forced to leave or go to shelter.

Public Works – Inspector Wilder: Public Works handles inops, junk, debris, and abandoned property. Dumpster in alley (2222 2nd Ave N) has been taken care of. Overgrown lots have been cut. Contact Horticultural Department for overgrown trees against buildings. Public Works has 2 crews (A & B) that work 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. everyday. Residents report the following issues: All lights are out in gated lot that parallels Morris; at night, lights down 20th St are dark because foliage needs to be trimmed near the school board office. Inspector Wilder will email traffic engineering regarding suggestion that sign is needed near off ramp from US 31 to 1st Avenue N to warn that drivers need to slow down.

Birmingham Public Library – Karyn Davis: December 15, 2015, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Coloring For Adults Holiday Program at the Birmingham Public Library, 2100 Park Place, StoryCastle Youth Department. Food and music will be provided.

M.Perez moved for CCNA to purchase table; D.Kassouf 2nd; motion passes (12-yes; 0-no)
